Fireworks at Sixty Acres Park
Brooke and I set off on a journey to capture some fireworks festivities, instead of watching them on TV. Heading north on the Sammamish River trail (7 miles round trip!) with a tripod and camera in hand, we found some neighborhood families setting off explosives. Using an exposure of 5 secs on a setting of ISO 100 and f/8.0, this image was captured with a shutter release cable. Not quite as impressive as the big boys - it was still really fun to see the highly illegal explosions. The hardest thing about photographing these fiery sites is anticipating the explosions - since they went off randomly - and the shutter speed was so long! We hope your Fourth was safe and enjoyable.
